Highlights of the 1500 medals held at the museum

The medal collection features some key displays in permanent glassed showcases in maroon steel frames. The entire collection of over 1500 medals held at the Museum is available on public display in secure custom-made drawers which may be opened and inspected.

The medal collection includes several examples of gallantry medals including the Victoria Cross and the George Cross which have been awarded to Airborne Forces members. Their story is told alongside the display.

These medals are extremely valuable both for their rarity and for the story they tell of bravery and sacrifice, which makes them so significant in the history of airborne warfare in the British Army.
