Para Art for Auction
David Shepherd, the celebrated wildlife, railway and military artist has donated a signed, numbered print of his iconic painting 'Arnhem Bridge 5pm'. This shows the heroic resistance by Col Frost's men in September 1944.
In addition, David kindly gave a personal donation of a rare print of 'Elephants in the Kaokoveld', one of the last not in private hands.
Carole Cuneo, daughter of the artist Terence Cuneo also donated a signed print of the D-Day landings.
A framed print of Cuneo's 1950 Presentation of colours, signed by both the artist and Field Marshal Montgomery was also donated by another supporter.
We are very grateful for this gesture of support from artists long associated with The Parachute Regiment.
The Arnhem print has been donated through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, a charity devoted to preserving endangered species. You can read more about its work by following the link from our Links page.
Here too you will find a link to Terence Cuneo Fine Arts and the work of this great artist.
All the prints were auctioned in aid of the Airborne Assault Appeal at a September dinner in Dubai organised by Richard Donnellan of Surefire Logistics.
