Pathfinder Parachute Group Poppy Drop

Buy a poppy and have it dropped at Arnhem or Normandy. Pathfinder Parachute Group is organising the Poppy Drop Appeal in support of the Royal British Legion and the Airborne Assault Appeal.

Poppies were dropped in September 2008 by parachute bundles onto the Arnhem DZ, and then laid out at the Airborne Forces memorial.


In 2009 it is planned to repeat this on a grander scale with a flypast of Dakota C47 aircraft and a mass parachute Drop. This time the Normandy DZ will be added. This many Douglas Dakota aircraft have not been seen together over Europe since the 1944 invasion.

Funds donated to sponsor a poppy will go to the Surrey Royal British Legion to assist its work in helping serving and ex-servicemen and women and their families, and to the Airborne Assault Appeal.
